"Where do you go when your parents, who have been self-sufficient for all their lives, need help at home? You dig in and research possibilities. When I received the text from Connor May of Seniors Helping Seniors, I knew by the description he gave me that THIS could work for my parents. Having a "friend" who is there to take you to appointments, make sure you eat and take proper medical care of yourself, and help around the house in order to maximize your quality of life is what every person needs. My dad jumped at the idea. My mother bristled and took offense, but we decided to go for it. The first day Agnes arrived was bumpy for both she and my mother. I expected that but I hoped for better. Two days later Agnes came again, and a twist happened. My mother received confusing phone calls from doctors and Agnes was able to intervene as well as reassure my mom that she was on her side. Gratitude softened my mother's fears, and a working relationship began. Everyone in our family has now heard Agnes' praises and we all feel thankfulness that Seniors Helping Seniors cares about two people who mean so much to us. My own worries and stresses are falling away and I can welcome in each day feeling secure in this home care. My parents say, "Agnes knows her job and she will tell you she will do it." -Shelley J Sweet-Tufano

"Worst case scenario. Family member living alone in Connecticut, single, no children, no other family in her state becomes seriously ill. Hospitalized for 1 month, then sent to a rehabilitation facility for another month. Finally going home! Finding home care for her from my state of North Carolina, was not only challenging but very, very stressful. After extensive research and checking many reviews, I was able to find Seniors Helping Seniors of Western Connecticut. Mr. Connor May, Founder and CEO helped me navigate thru the entire process and he found the perfect, most compassionate caregiver for my sister. (Shout out to Ms. M.! You are the best!) Ms. M and my sister have bonded and work together on the ultimate goal of my sister living alone in her own home once again. Thanks to Mr. May for always being available, always answering my calls and questions and always putting the needs and concerns of my sister his #1 priority!" -Christine E.

"I live independently in my own home; I have also had a few lifestyle changes including joint replacements. So, I explored personal in-home care support and contacted Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care services. A plan was quickly put in place for my care a few days a week. I am very fortunate for all the help from my Seniors Helping Seniors® caregiver."

“For many elderlies, the pandemic really sent their feelings of loneliness and isolation right through the roof! No one should have to combat loneliness. Sometimes the only thing you can do is give yourself. I enjoy my Seniors Helping Seniors® client’s stories of their past. Just listening to what they have lived through and hearing their views of the present and the future can be an eye-opening experience. I really enjoy my visits! I hope that my presence is one of their presents for the week. Being a senior myself, the benefits work both ways.”
