About Seniors Helping Seniors®

About Seniors Helping Seniors®

Inspired by nearly 15 years of service alongside Mother Teresa in Calcutta, our co-founder, Kiran Yocom, founded Seniors Helping Seniors® with a simple belief: older adults deserve to be cared for with compassion, dignity, and genuine human connection. She saw firsthand that meaningful care is about far more than helping with daily tasks—it’s about honoring each person with empathy, respect, and love.

That philosophy continues to guide everything we do. We believe seniors deserve to age on their own terms, remaining independent and connected in the comfort of home. Through personalized support and companionship, our caregivers—many of whom are seniors themselves—bring understanding, shared experiences, and joyful moments that brighten each day.

At Seniors Helping Seniors® Boston South Shore, we understand both the opportunities and challenges that come with aging. Our mission is to empower older adults to live safely, confidently, and with purpose in the homes they love. As needs change over time, families can count on us to provide flexible, compassionate support that evolves right alongside them.

More than caregivers, we are neighbors and friends. We are honored to have built lasting relationships throughout the South Shore community, and we look forward to helping you or someone you love experience the comfort, independence, and peace of mind that compassionate care can provide.

Our Mission

We believe the best care begins with genuine human connection. Inspired by our founder’s experience caring for Seniors alongside Mother Teresa, we bring empathy and compassion to the Seniors in our community. Our passion is to help families support their aging loved ones stay safe and independent at home. We provide this peace of mind by thoughtfully matching Seniors as caregivers who bring shared life experience and relatability, creating meaningful relationships that truly change the way home care feels.

Get in touch with us

Our philosophy is simple: to make aging at home possible—with compassion, companionship, and dignity.

OUR PURPOSE

We believe home care should feel personal, compassionate, and deeply human.

Asking for help can feel overwhelming, and inviting someone into your home requires trust. Too often, home care feels transactional or impersonal when what families truly want is comfort, familiarity, and genuine connection.

We exist to change how home care feels by creating meaningful relationships rooted in empathy, compassion, and shared life experience.

OUR APPROACH

We provide relationship-driven care by thoughtfully matching Seniors with caregivers who share relatable life experiences, personalities, and interests.

By maintaining consistency in those relationships over time, we create familiarity, trust, and companionship that allows clients and families that help us feel like an extension of the family. Our Senior caregivers do more than assist with daily tasks—they provide emotional connection, encouragement, and peace of mind that helps clients continue living independently with dignity and confidence.

Inspired by Mother Teresa’s philosophy of empathy and compassion, we approach every interaction with kindness, patience, and respect.

Our philosophy is simple: to make aging at home possible—with compassion, companionship, and dignity.

They matched him with a wonderful caregiver who shares his love of history and the Red Sox. What started as a few hours a week has blossomed into a friendship. Dad is happier, and our family has peace of mind knowing he is safe, engaged, and cared for by people who genuinely treat him like family."

Michelle grew up in Hanson, Massachusetts, and attended Notre Dame Academy in Hingham. She earned her bachelor's degree from Harvard University and her master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Michelle brings more than 15 years of experience in healthcare strategy, operations, and management consulting, helping healthcare organizations improve outcomes, strengthen systems, and better serve their communities. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, where she developed a deep appreciation for serving older adults and veterans.

Michael grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts, and is a graduate of Hingham High School. He studied Public Policy at UMass Boston and spent more than 20 years in the banking industry, holding senior leadership roles focused on strategy, customer experience, business development, and community engagement. He also served his local community as an elected official for over a decade, gaining valuable experience building partnerships and advocating for the needs of residents.

As both business partners and life partners, Michelle and Michael are committed to bringing a more personal, relationship-driven approach to home care throughout the South Shore. Their mission is simple: to help families find peace of mind while ensuring older adults receive compassionate support, meaningful companionship, and the opportunity to age with dignity and independence.
